Are you planning to operate a business in the Town of Indian Head? You may require one or more business licenses.
Typically, business-licensing and related bylaws are enacted to protect public health and safety in matters related to the business operation. Licensing fees are established to offset the cost of the related enforcement and inspection programs.
License applications may also require an inspection and approval of zoning, buildings, police, health, fire, and property standards. Business Licenses
Businesses operated out of commercial property in the Town of Indian Head have their business taxes included in the property tax. Property owners pay property taxes based on 70% of the assessed value of their property, using a mill rate factor. To determine the tax you will pay, multiply the assessed value of your property by 70% and then multiply the result by the mill rate.
All other businesses including temporary vendors, travelling vendors, mobile and home based businesses that carry on trade within the Town limits of Indian Head are required to obtain a business license. Submit the Home Based Business Application 
to the Town Office.
Applications for business licenses can also be obtained from the Town Office. A fee of $100.00 per year is charged for each business license.
Businesses are advised to check the regulations in the Town's Zoning Bylaw, available from the Town Office, concerning the type of development prior to completing the application.
