Town Snow Removal Plan

Winter weather is upon us,  the Town of Indian Head asks for the assistance of all residents & visitors with the snow clearing and removal job.  We remind everyone to not park vehicles on streets and boulevards for long periods of time.  The Town has designated a no cost vehicle storage area in the industrial district along Industrial Drive to assist residents who may not have sufficient room on their property.  For more information on this storage option please contact the Town Office at 695-3344.

After a snowfall the Town strives to clear all streets within 24 hours.  We ask for your assistance by moving vehicles off the street and unto your property prior to and during snow clearing activity.  Remember the town crews may start clearing streets as soon as the snow stops falling which can be anytime during the day or night.  The town crews follow a snow clearing priority plan when cleaning streets, major streets are cleaned first (Grand Avenue), secondary streets with commercial and institutional traffic are next, residential streets are third on the priority list and work for private parties is the least priority.

Please do not shovel driveway and sidewalk snow unto the street, this snow should be contained within the property or hauled to a snow rmoval dump site.  The Town's snow dumpsite is located at the Exhibition grounds, adjacent to the ball diamonds, 1100 Woodward Avenue.
