Warm and Sunny Days

Summer brings the sun and anyone who has spent summer on the prairies knows that our summers are the best in the world.

Saskatchewan enjoys the highest average of sunny days in Canada. You can plan your holiday here knowing that the weather usually co-operates. Warm weather activities include golfing, trail riding, outdoors sports, camping, historic exhibits and museums to name a few.

What's a small Town without a Parade? Visit the Town on our annual Parade Day for a traditional event loved by young and old alike. Don't forget to bring your folding chair. Visit our Photo Gallery for a look at this fun event.

Enjoy Our Canadian Winter

To celebrate the beginning of the long cold months we have our Winter Festival – 'Light the Lights' in late November. This Festival sees the Town decorated for the Christmas season with 15000 festive lights.

As the days get shorter and the nights longer embrace the Canadian cold with ice-skating in Town, snow mobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing on the beautiful Katepwa Lake.

Spring And Fall In Beautiful Indian Head

In the spring visit our hiking trails in Sunbeam Park and enjoy the cycle of life as it reawakens from the long winter nights.

Spring or Fall come to Grand Avenue and enjoy shopping and dining at any number of family-run businesses. Look for antiques or enjoy fresh bakery treats. Wide sidewalks, easy parking and lots of places to sit and talk to friendly residents make a visit to our downtown very enjoyable. Or just enjoy playing with your children at one of several play areas or public garden spaces. Learn more about some of the wonderful parks and recreation facilities found in the Town.

Travel Through Time

Our town has been here since the 1800's and people have been coming to visit us ever since. Our beautiful community still retains many of the grand early century homes and historic landmarks that draw history buffs and tourists alike. Visit some of the historic landmarks, exhibits and museums available in the Town and area or take part in the Town's Historic Walking Tour.

Katepwa Park

Is a pretty provincial park on the shores of Katepwa Lake, and has a lovely beach, particularly suitable for families with children. Only 15 minutes from Indian Head it is located in the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley.

Qu'Appelle Valley

The beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley, north of Regina, 15 minutes from Indian Head, extends along the Qu'Appelle River which rises in Lake Diefenbaker to the west of the province. In the floor of this steep-sided valley, carved out of the gently undulating prairie by the glacial waters following the Ice Age, there is a rich garden-style landscape.
